Description
Holograph letter from John Lennon, The Presbytery, Portarlington (County Laois), to Hagan. Hoping he is better; acknowledging the hard work he did during the cardinal's stay. The latter has since unjustly denounced Hagan for having treated him badly- 'it is small thanks after all the kindness you have shown him'. The bishops, including Dr. Cullen, have fêted 'the modern Rinuccini'- complaining 'what a fuss is being made!' Curran was in the area for a while. Reporting of a lucky escape Arthur Murphy had in a motor collision.
