Description
Holograph letter from Archbishop T.P. Gilmartin, St. Jarlath's, Tuam (County Galway), to Hagan, sending Peter's Pence and his honorarium. Asking about a dispensation for Westport yet outstanding. He hopes he can deal with Fr. [McGenna] without involving the Congregation for Religious. They have been notified of the nuncio's special powers. He has met the Archbishop [of Dublin] a few times; he is very well. They are trying to raise £20,000 for roofing their cathedral; the work has begun; enclosing a petition to the Pope in this matter (not extant)–they have built five new churches and are adding one at Achill Sound.
