Description
Holograph letter from Bernard Patten, Shop Street, 6 August 1927 Westport (County Mayo), to Hagan, enclosing holograph letter from Archbishop F.W.[Keating], Archbishop's House, Liverpool (England), to Fr. Patten; sympathising with him over his failure to secure his degree – 'such humiliations...must be patiently endured and turned to moral profit', and regretting that he cannot take up the rector's invitation to Rome for health reasons. – Commenting that the archbishop seemingly allows him to return to Rome. A strong delegation from the Irish College was on Croagh Patrick.
