Charleston Dalenda Est
Illustrated Civil War envelopes with patriotic symbols, slogans and cartoons, mostly Northern, including a few Southern ones.
Image is supposed to be that of the location of Charleston, S.C. in the year 1871. All that is shown is palmetto trees. The image seems to be a play on Cicero's Carthagio dalenda est", except in this case it is Charleston that must be destroyed."
