"One Nation - One Government"
Illustrated Civil War envelopes with patriotic symbols, slogans and cartoons, mostly Northern, including a few Southern ones.
Federal (Bald) eagle is perched on top of an arch made up of all of the states. The federal shield is placed on the eagle's chest. The federal (bald) eagle has the snake of secession in its beak. The pillars of the arch are the Union and the Constitution. Two Union flags are placed at the top of the arch. Note that the artist could not resist the visual pun of having Pennsylvania as the keystone" of the arch."
