Former Georgetown students, from left to right: Senator Philip A. Hart, Michigan; Senator Joseph C. O'Mahony, Wyoming; Senator Hall Stoner Lusk, Oregon; Senator Lyndon B. Johnson, Texas; Senator Harrison A. Williams, New Jersey. In all, more than 135 former Georgetown students have served in Congress, beginning with the school's first student, William Gaston, who was elected to the House of Representatives from North Carolina in 1813.
