Riggs Library in Georgetown University's Healy Hall
Georgetown College (1789-1815)
The shelf ends which face the Library's central court are decorated at each level with two panels. The lower panel contains a cross surrounded by eight decorative squares of Gothic foliage. The upper panel has a round-arched enframement with miniature Gothic moldings. At the ceiling line are iron shields displaying the seals of the Riggs family, the United States, the Jesuit Order, and Georgetown.
