Celebration of George Washington's Bicentennial at Georgetown University
Georgetown College (1789-1815)
Pictured: University President W. Coleman Nevils, S.J. (left) and U.S. Vice President Charles Curtis (right). Georgetown's celebration of George Washington's Bicentennial consisted of a reception featuring an historical exhibit of Washington documents and religious relics associated with the early history of Georgetown and colonial Maryland. Before the reception, Vice President Curtis laid a wreath in front of a Houdon bust of Washington outside the President's Office in Healy Hall.
