Abstract
Globalization's Winners and Losers: Challenges for Developed and Developing Countries - GeorgetownX - INFX523-01
Description
In this video, Professor Kathleen McNamara joins Professor Moran to discuss the collective action problem. She unpacks the politics of globalization and helps to address the following key question: What is the impact of trade expansion on the kinds of jobs in the economy?
Learning Objective: Define protectionism, collective action, free riders, and skill-biased technological change.
Learning Objective: Explain why the impact of trade-and-foreign-investment liberalization should be evaluated on the basis of the quality of jobs (i.e., jobs with higher compensation) rather than on the number of jobs.
