Abstract
Third in a series of meetings sponsored by the Latin American Studies Program, the Lecture Series Fund, and the Cuban Students Association. Jose Hernandez, Assistant Dean of the School of Languages and Linguistics, is introduced as the speaker. Hernandez speaks on "The Role of the Military in Republican Cuba" explaining that the role of the military is only one of many factors that influence the development of a nation and is a role that has largely been neglected in Cuban history. Part 2 of the tape is a continuation of Hernandez's lecture and includes the beginning of the question and answer session. Side B of the tape is the continuation of the question and answer session.
