Continuation of the presentation ceremony for the Robert F. Wagner Papers, with remarks from the Secretary-Treasurer of the American Federation of Labor, George Meany: "Many will . . . find in these papers conclusive proof that promotion by government of the general welfare of all the people as called for by the Preamble to our Constitution is the most effective defense against the encroachment of totalitarian ideologies which would destroy our democratic way of life. Meany is followed by James B. Carey, Secretary-Treasurer of the Congress of Industrial Organizations, Herbert H. Lehman, former Governor of New York, Leon Keyersling, and Francis P. Matthews, Secretary of the Navy.
