About this Collection
This collection contains over 50,000 bibliographic citations for resources that cover literature on bioethical issues from 1972-1999. In 1973, the same year the Kennedy Institute library was established, the NLM awarded a grant to the Bioethics Information Retrieval Project at the Kennedy Institute of Ethics to collect bibliographic information on the emerging discipline of bioethics for an online database, BIOETHICSLINE, to be part of the NLM's MEDLARS system. This database is now preserved for ongoing access through DigitalGeorgetown.
The BioethicsLine citation database provides OpenURL and Digital Object Identifier (DOI) links to quickly search for publisher full-text access through your local research institution.
Citations in this collection are assigned subject keywords following the Bioethics Thesaurus.
