New England Journal of Medicine. 1982 Aug 19; 307(8): 506-509.
David Rabin is a physician who developed symptoms of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis while he was director of endocrinology at the Vanderbilt Medical Center. In collaboration with two members of his family, he recounts how his illness affected his relationship with fellow physicians at Vanderbilt and elsewhere.
