Abstract
The President's Commission for the Study of Ethical Problems in Medicine and Biomedical and Behavioral Research, scheduled to go out of business on 31 December 1982, requested a three-month extension of its life to complete several reports. This brief news item reports that the requested extension was added as an amendment to a budget bill by the Senate but then stripped from the bill by a House-Senate conference committee.
