dc.description.abstract | An agreement between Hoechst AG, a West German chemical company, and
the Massachusetts General Hospital to establish a molecular biology department
headed by researcher Howard M. Goodman is described. The agreement contract
covers funding; personnel; faculty duties; scientific programs; training;
collaboration with other scientists; right to publish; and patents, licenses,
and royalties. Goodman's involvement with the project, the relationship of
Massachusetts General to Harvard, and the industry-university relationship are
discussed. Interest in the project by the federal government is also
considered. (KIE abstract) | en |
