Three Defense Department spokemen respond to arguments presented by Physicians for Social Responsibility against the Pentagon's plan to allocate civilian hospital space and facilities for military casualities during conventional conflicts. The authors reject charges that CMCHS is based on a nuclear war scenario, that Congress and the public have been excluded from planning, and that the contingency system will divert resources from the civilian sector.
