Nature. 1983 Mar 3; 302(5903): 4-5.
France has established its first "national advisory committee on ethics for the life sciences and health research." The committee, to consist of 4 "moralists", 14 scientists, and 14 government representatives, will advise on issues posed by government ministries, organize annual public debates, and establish an international documentation and information center. The first issue on its agenda is a draft law on the use of fetal tissue for medical research. (KIE abstract)
