dc.description.abstract | Dr. Wilbert Aronow, a prominent cardiologist, has agreed to
disqualify himself from future new drug trials in the face of evidence that he
submitted false data to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on the efficacy
of several drugs. An account is provided of the FDA's handling of the case
and of a related investigation of Aronow's current work for the Environmental
Protection Agency on the effect of carbon monoxide on heart patients. (KIE
