Abstract
The parameters of the social responsibility of medical and social science professionals with regard to the threat of nuclear war are outlined. Several questions are raised in order to promote further discussion. Does nuclear war present a unique moral imperative? What is social responsibility? Is there a special social responsibility for medical and social scientists? What is the relevance of special expertise? The author asserts that nuclear war is a political disease that must be prevented through political involvement. (KIE abstract)
