A Structural Approach to Teaching Decision-Making Skills in Biomedical Ethics
Francoeur, Robert T.
Journal of Bioethics. 1984 Fall/Winter; 5(2): 145-154.
Francoeur, a professor of biological sciences in the Allied Health Program at Fairleigh Dickinson University, has found that the prevailing case study approach to teaching bioethics does not work well with college students who have not been trained in problem analysis and decision making. He describes a different type of course used at Fairleigh Dickinson specifically to develop such analytic and decision making skills. The course is adaptable to computer-assisted instruction.
