Voluntary Interruption of Pregnancy With Mifepristone and a Prostaglandin Analogue: A Large-Scale French Experience

French researchers report on a study designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of the drug mifepristone, also known as RU-486, in terminating pregnancy when administered with a prostaglandin analogue, gemeprost or sulprostone. They conclude that the use of RU-486 followed by a small dose of prostaglandin analogue is an effective and safe method for terminating early pregnancy.
