Ethics Committees in Italy

Very different in their aims, membership, and status, Italian ECs are now facing the need to establish a common basis, at least on the methdological level, in order to enhance the coordination to their efforts in dealing with the various topics noticed above. The present situation can be described by distinguishing three levels on which ECs are developing: national, regional, and local or peripheral.
