dc.description.abstract...The case described in this first section is taken from a recent Interdisciplinary Ethics Workshop held at the National Institutes of Health. This workshop was cosponsored by the National Institute for Nursing Research and the NIH Clinical Center Bioethics program. Discussions of human genetics research and some of the ethical issues arising from that research were followed by discussion of several challenging cases in a small group format. One of those cases was selected for further discussion in this section.en
