Compulsory AIDS Testing--a Recent Judgement by the Italian Constitutional Court

Just four years after being enacted, Italian Law No. 135 of June 1990, which deals with the control of AIDS, has suffered a serious -- some commentators claim fatal -- attack by the Italian Constitutional Court. This article examines the legal context in which the Constitutional Court reached its decision, as well as the legal and ethical implications of the Court's judgement.
