Dialogue to Action is a program we developed to establish a link between hospital ethics committees (HECs) and the public. We began Dialogue to Action in 1995 as a pilot program to consider how ethics committees should define their role. We described the format of this program and the results from the first Dialogue to Action in another publication. Now, the program has been completed at seven Utah hospitals, which has enabled us to validate the findings from the first program and learn substantially more information. In this article, we make our findings and methods available to others in the hope that they will benefit by using Dialogue to Action as a model for other programs.
