Abstract

This paper was submitted to the symposium held by the Islamic Organization for Medical Sciences (IOMS) during the period 24-25 November 1988 in Cairo on the ethical dimensions of health policy from an Islamic perspective. The main thesis of this paper is that Freudian psychoanalysis cannot be defended on scientific grounds anymore especially after discovering the biological causes of mental diseases.
