Abstract

This paper was submitted to the symposium held by the Islamic Organization for Medical Sciences (IOMS) during the period 24-25 November 1988 in Cairo on the ethical dimensions of health policy from an Islamic perspective. The paper outlines two main ethical precepts which can be considered as the main Islamic religio-ethical maxims pertinent to health, namely having a balanced lifestyle and health promotion.
