Abstract
Created as an educational tool address to medical and mental health professionals, this video discusses the health care needs of the intersex child. "'Intersex' is the general term used to denote a variety of conditions in which a person is born with mixed sex anatomy. It is important to note that intersex conditions sometimes involve 'ambiguous genitalia' but that intersexuality is not always evident from a external examination." (quote from the ISNA website]. Ethicist Kenneth Kipnis provides commentary; other speakers include medical professionals, an adult with intersex, and a parent of a child with intersex.
