Abstract
In Guatemala the Forensic Anthropology Foundation (FAF) exhumes 1,000 bodies a year in an attempt to identify the remains of decades-old victims of army massacres. SACRED SOIL interviews relatives of the deceased and the FAF director describes their efforts, including meetings with village residents, physical recovery of bodies, and analysis of the remains to determine the cause of death.
