Abstract
Question Presented: Does the Controlled Substances Act authorize the Attorney General to determine that prescribing a controlled substance for the purpose of enabling a mentally competent, terminally ill patient to secure assistance in dying is never within "the course of professional practice," even though such care is expressly authorized by state law?
